Aluminum is a Light metal with silver white luster. Surface treatment and coloring of aluminum alloy to make it look beautiful and elegant, improve its wear and corrosion resistance, make it more durable, and meet the application of aluminum alloy in modern social decoration.
Its corrosion resistance has the following two characteristics:
1. The higher the purity, the better the corrosion resistance. As we all know, pure aluminum reacts with oxygen in the air, and a thin layer of dense natural oxide film will be produced on the surface of aluminum, which is faster and thicker than other metal oxide films, thus preventing the corrosion of harmful gases and moisture in the air and playing a protective role.
2. Although pure aluminum has good corrosion resistance, its mechanical strength is poor, which restricts the application of aluminum to some extent. Therefore, people add appropriate amounts of magnesium, copper, zinc and other metals to aluminum to make various types of aluminum alloys. Aluminum alloys have high mechanical strength, which greatly improves the mechanical strength of aluminum and greatly expands its application range. Although aluminum alloys have high mechanical strength, their corrosion resistance is worse than that of pure aluminum, so they may be corroded due to oxidation. This requires powder coating to protect aluminum alloy profiles, which have been widely used in building doors, windows, curtain walls and other products for many years due to their small specific gravity, easy processing, and high mechanical strength. After surface treatment, aluminum profiles have many advantages such as high corrosion resistance, diverse colors, and good surface texture, which correspond to different building exterior wall coatings to build colorful buildings.
